VulkanUS began with one man and a simple belief: sharpening knives should be easier.

Founded by Austrian master sharpener Harald Stallegger in 1985, Vulkanus was born from decades of experience, craftsmanship, and a relentless pursuit of better sharpening, and developed a patented system that changed the way knives are sharpened.

What began in a small Austrian workshop grew into a brand trusted by cooks, chefs, hunters, and fishermen around the world.

Nearly forty years later, the mission remains unchanged. Under the stewardship of the Ankershofen family, Vulkanus continues to combine experience, innovation, and a relentless pursuit of sharpness.
