What types of knives can I sharpen with Vulkanus Basic?
Vulkanus Basic sharpens most steel blades used for hunting, fishing, camping, and everyday carry, including hunting knives, skinning knives, pocket knives, camp knives, fillet knives, serrated knives, and many Japanese knives.
It is not suitable for ceramic knives. Serrated and single-bevel knives can also be sharpened using the recommended technique in the instructions.
How many times should I pull the knife through the sharpener?
We recommend checking the blade sharpness after approx. 4 draws and repeating the process if necessary. You will then achieve optimum sharpness with minimal wear on the blade.
How long do the sharpening inserts last?
With normal use, the sharpening inserts will last for several years. If replacement is needed, spare parts are available for purchase in our store.
How do I clean and maintain my knife sharpener?
For best performance, keep your knives clean before sharpening and regularly remove metal filings with a damp sponge. If needed, the sharpener can be cleaned in the dishwasher using the glass cycle.
Does Vulkanus come with a warranty?
The device is essentially designed to be exceptionally robust and sturdy. It has a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee. Nevertheless, if an unexpected defect occurs, please contact us directly.
